MMT Telescope One Meter Secondary

HEXTEK provided the 1.1 meter f/9 secondary mirror substrate for the retrofitted MMT telescope. The all borosilicate glass telescope has produced excellent imaging results as demonstrated in the photo below. (Photos courtesy University of Arizona)

This telescope utilizes a one meter f/9 secondary Hextek lightweight substrate and a 6.5 meter University of Arizona lightweight casting – both borosilicate glass. These images were produced prior to active cooling and adaptive optics integration. (Photos courtesy University of Arizona)
