The MSTI-3 satellite was launched in May of 1996 via a pegasus rocket. It carried HEXTEK's first optic into orbit and was used to scan images into an onboard telescope. Thousands of photos were taken by a system which exceeded its life and perfomance specifications. The gimbal assembly which housed the HEXTEK flat is center left of photo.
