HEXTEK Corporation, in addition to manufacturing Gas-Fusion™ blanks, offers glass casting and slumping services in sizes ranging from 0.3 to 2.5 meters. Casting can either be solid or lightweight depending upon application. We design and build our own tooling and molds specific to our customer's needs. The materials we work with include soda lime, BK-7, Pyrex™ and Borofloat™. HEXTEK has the ability to machine slump molds and can slump glass to within 0.8 mm p-v of a theoretical sphere, eliminating generating.

We also offer generating services to 2.5 meters and have worked with BK-7, Borosilicate, Zerodur™, ULE™ and fused silica glass. We offer curve generating, hole boring, edging and beveling

FURNACES AND FACILITIES

The photo above shows furnaces with capacities, of 0.45, 1.25, 1.5 and 2.5 meters. HEXTEK has designed and built all furnaces particular to our processing techniques.These furnaces are located in our 3,300 sq.ft. facility in Tucson, AZ. Maximum continuous operating temperatures reach 1200°C for casting cycles.

GENERATING SERVICES

A one meter Gas-Fusion blank is readied for generating on our 2.5 meter machine	Edge and surface generating a 36" diameter disk of 2 1/4" thick Pyrex™ in preparation for slumping.

PRECISION SLUMPING
